Antonio Terrón Barroso


Biography


I am a researcher at the ADHUC-Centre for Research, Theory, Gender, Sexuality of the University of Barcelona, where I am attached to the project “Gender, violence and representation. Los textos de creación en la prensa femenina peninsular (1848-1918)”. I have completed a postgraduate degree in Social Science Research at the University of Aston University, a Master’s degree in Teacher Training at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, a degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada and a degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. As for my teaching experience, I have worked at several international institutions, including the University of Birmingham, Panthéon-Assas University, Aston University, Cardiff University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My research and teaching interests revolve around the discursive construction of national and gender identity, film studies, second language teaching, translation and interpreting. I also do freelance translation, proofreading and editing in my fields of specialisation (cultural studies, gender, communication and tourism). My working languages are English, French, Catalan and Spanish. My mother tongue is peninsular Spanish.
